I posted this on the household tax site. There seems to be a lack of genuine informed info there, they seem to be taking 'legal advice' rather than thinking about it for themselves. Is this outfit another false flag, do they know what they are doing? I bloody well hope they do, but as for me, I'll go my own way, I think!
I'll ask again as it might have been missed last time, when these threatening letters come in the post, what is the plan? Tear them up and in legal parlance that is acceptance by aquiesence, would it not be better to send a registered letter of 'conditional acceptance' along with a lawful notice that further threats will not be tolerated (Non-fatal Offences Act) also I think the timely reminder to them about the Constitutional implications of threats, a property tax that turns rights into privileges etc should be better? As for me, I WILL respond to their threats so that if they are foolish enough to take me to court, there is a paper trail to follow. As to the effectiveness of this MO-all I can say is that I have lawfully challenged the TV license and the census and succeeded in that I have not been invited to court. They fear informed people more than anything, so I guess-just be informed!

"They" sent out another round of letters a few days ago (beginning of July) to all the householders. I think we need to get some fliers out there to everyone in Ireland, explaining what their rights are and how to stand up for them. All we need is a rich benefactor to have them printed and sent out.
.
On the Vincent Brown program the other night, they had Claire Daly on defending her "use" of TD's expenses, there is definitely a smear campaign going on. It won't be long before they throw some shit at Joe Higgins aswel, both of whom are sticking up for the People over the Household Fee.
.
The fact that "they" are engaging in dirty-tricks says it all for me, the government can't be trusted because they are dishonest, and the time is long gone since they were able to speak for me, or indeed anyone I know.
.
I would rather pay my tax and have people like Claire Daly using the expenses to visit and consult with her constituents, who she represents, rather than pay for some yes-man, fat-cat's transport and brothel money.

It will not sto 100e but by next year it could 3,000. also what about people who are low income ie OAPs ,people with S/Tanks. no way will i pay for water that is toxic. Breda Murphy

We avoid debt as much as possible, also we pay people before corporations-local shops get their accounts paid before the likes of the ESB. We have to make uor own constructs to manage our lives and not use 'their's'. I'll priv mail you about the protest.

I'm open to contradiction.
Permalink Reply by Diane, Denizen on July 15, 2012 at 13:51 That is one way of looking at it!

You are correct in that the legal definition of household seems to be those living within the dwelling, however for the purposes of their statute acts they define things in their own way and ofcourse use very little punctuation so as to leave interpretation open for themselves.
Permalink Reply by Spirality on July 26, 2012 at 11:52 I thought it was supposed to be a Charge, not a tax?
I hear the other day that the Revenue are going to be collecting the household charge. The only way they will get their compliance money is to remove the choice from people, which isn't really winning when you think about it.
"No" is still a very powerful word.
Permalink Reply by Diane, Denizen on July 26, 2012 at 11:58 This government is on track to be even more unpopular than the last. They are doing the elitists work for them, guide 7 to do away with petty laws and useless officials. Obviously the elitists don't need the government as they already have their own gestapo lined up already.

Permalink Reply by Diane, Denizen on August 17, 2012 at 9:03 No Marcus, we haven't got the first letter yet either, so you are not alone. Apparently, they are sending them out in batches of 100,000. I think we will be sending the first one back NCRTS and the second one will be given conditional acceptance so if they try the court route they will be in trouble as I have already tried to settle the alleged debt. I will probably enclose a notice as well, saying that any more threats and will be deemed as harassment. They get worried when they know we know the Law better than they do!

Am I the only person in the country to have not received in writing word one from any government or local authority about the household charge ? Apparently they are sending second letters out, where was the irst one? Is the the government involved in misinformation?
