That is great. I am a web developer and programmer, so I would be able to look after a lot of the technical aspects and I think the first step is setting up a website and asking for people to express an interest, just as they have done in the UK.
Maybe we can talk by email about it?
Permalink Reply by Diane, Denizen on February 26, 2012 at 16:31 I would certainly be interested as my partner has a pension (Now frozen) With Irish Life (What a shower they are), at the moment we bank with TSB part of the same group, so any alternative would be most welcome.
Permalink Reply by Paul Ferguson on March 15, 2012 at 10:00 Hi guys,
I do like the idea of lawful banking and I'd be willing to help. I have my own ideas as to how we might reform the banking system too which can be found at www.sensiblemoney.ie. I'm not dogmatic about the proposal and bringing banking reform to the political agenda would be great no matter the avenue.
Thanks,
Paul Ferguson
Sensible Money
Permalink Reply by Alan Moore on March 15, 2012 at 10:08 The Sensible Money website looks interesting. I am going to have a good read of it today. Really everyone just needs a money supply to trade that can't be taken away by banks through fractional reserve manipulation or by gamblers on a stock market.
I don't know if BitCoin is the answer or Lawful Bank. I need to have a good read of the sensible money website to get more background. Thanks for showing me this website.
Permalink Reply by komurchu on March 15, 2012 at 11:13 Guys, this lawful bank is a sham. Its the brainchild of Roger Hayes, a most dishonourable man who charges money to be a part of his group. Very similar to Ben Lowery, he sees this concious awakening and the folk involved and desperate for change as a means to make money.
Apart from that , the Lawful Bank idea is a bloody joke, its just fractional reserve banking in a different outfit. Roger Hayes speaks about employing his own bailiffs and setting up his scheme based on sterling currently in circulation.....laughable.
For a real system, the only real alternative have a look at Mike Montagnes work http://www.perfecteconomy.com/pg-glossary-of-terms.html.
Permalink Reply by Alan Moore on March 15, 2012 at 14:12 I don't have any problem with someone making money. I don't think we are moving to a cashless society and we all make money one way or another. No one is forced to give either of them money.
I will have a good read of perfecteconomy.com. Thanks for this information.
Permalink Reply by komurchu on March 15, 2012 at 14:32 Ok, but the fact that Roger Hayes is charging folk money to be part of his laughable sham group isnt the only fact that makes him dishonourable. Look at the events surrounding the arrest of the judge that he instigated, he ended up leaving some of the folk that stood shoulder to shoulder with him hanging out to dry. One guy is in prison and has been shunned by this Hayes fellow.
I wouldnt touch him with a barge pole and thats apart from the fact that his lawfull bank sham is based on fractional reserve banking and is built on the shoddiest of foundation. When he debated with Mike Montagne he resorted to acting like a spoilt bold teenager and couldnt answer the questions posed nor could he even see how flawed his plan was/is.......a simple snake oil salesman.
Permalink Reply by Alan Moore on March 15, 2012 at 14:41 Yeah, I would agree with that. Fractional reserve is in place at the moment and it is benefiting very wealthy people, not you or me. You are probably right though that getting rid of fractional reserve 100% might be the real solution.
Maybe it is a bit coin (it's a digital currency) thing, where money increases in value instead of losing value.
Because right now, there is not less people who want to work, there is no shortage of products and services, but no one can do business because money has been taken out of the system. Maybe it would make more sense to pursue a Bit Coin marketplace than the Lawful Bank
Permalink Reply by Alan Moore on March 15, 2012 at 15:00 I say that because I don't think the government is ever going to support any of the discussions we are having here. If anybody thinks that the government is going to see sense and start issuing debt free money, once we explain clearly, they are living in dream land.
It is time for solutions from people not government. There are hundreds of solutions. We just need to pick one and support each other.
Sooner or later they will try to demonise anything that is successful, just like they are now with Freemen in Canada: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkyxylSE73s&feature=plcp&con...
with enough awake people though, it won't matter, they get their power from us
