 Planter before making mold.With claddagh.Below is the Harp opposite side.

 

This piece is being created by Jerry Karlik.

This is the Claddagh made in clay first before making the mold and cast in plaster.then transferred to the planter.This is my first attempt .

molds have been made and pieces are cast in plaster.Sorry about picture quality.

 

Here is the pieces being added to the planter which has been cast in plaster.

Next I will make a pollyurethane rubber mold and a five piece fibreglass casing,and from that I will cast in concrete.

Here are some finished pieces cast in concrete.

I am trying to educate myself in sculpting ,mold making and casting,and at the same time teach my children,so that they will always have something to fall back or advance in,any tips on how I can advance my learning would be much appreciated.Iam currently unemployed and dont see myself finding a job in the near future what with things in our economy being as they are I have always wanted to create my own pieces but never had the time,but that does not seem to be an issue anymore.Tadgh I love your bog oak wood carving have you ever thaught of making molds of your pieces and casting them?
