Tir na Saor Film Club

Tir na Saor Film Club

It has only just dawned on me that we have a book show on Tir na Saor radio, and a good one at that! But, as yet we don't have a Film Club. There are many good films out there that inform; 'They Live' would be a good example, but there are so many more, The Matrix, Freebird, V, Harry Potter and so many more. Here we will examine what film can show us and how we can interpret these films, their message, and how it might relate to us at this time.

Many links below are for MoviesTV Episodes and Music on Primewire.ag (which is now illegally blocked by Eircom) but the alternative sites to try are primewire.io .pl .ltd and .ch so in the address bar just change the .ag extension and press enter to get to the page and search again for the media you want.

Some of the links on primewire have pop-up windows and advertising, these can all be blocked by putting AdBlock Edge on your browser. There are also several fake pages.

If you choose not to block them, then wait until the movie starts, then pause it to dismiss the pop-up windows.

Please remember that you don't need to update or download anything, don't install or click anything other than the "continue", "play" or "free" buttons in the feature box.

If you have bandwidth issues or like to save the Episodes onto your disk to watch later, you can use a Downloader for your (Firefox) browser, and optionally an mp3 Media Converter to listen to the sound files on your travels.

VLC media player is a very good free app, you can play and convert videos, stream and record from a camera, and watch your videos with special effects www.videolan.org/vlc/

Many links in the film group are for Primewire.ag (which is now blocked) so you might have to go to primewire.ch instead.

The page names are all different aswel, so until I can change the links on this site, you should do a fresh search for the films or TV shows you want.

For example Mr Robot has changed from

Another website for getting Subtitles https://isubtitles.net/

Copy the .srt file from the zipped folder and paste it in the same folder as your movie, then rename it to exactly the same name, with the .srt extension.

The zipped file should open in explorer but if you need an app to unzip it, 7z is the best http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Swiss Army Man .  Holy shit ! What a Diabolical load of bollocks ! Literally . A hefty dose of Broke Back Mountain , a bit of Frankenstein ( or Wankenstein) , some necrophilia ( quite a bit actually ) , and a lot of Satanic programming >  Maybe not surprising as it stars Harry feckin' Potter,( who acts dead much better than he does alive) , of Satanic  J.K. Rowling fame .  If these are the best Hollywood has to offer I'm glad I don't go to the movies .  0/10 , Total turkey !

There are still some interesting things on TV, notably Mr Robot and Silicon Valley.

Mr Robot is about a computer hacker who is trying to take down a banking cartel while remaining sane.

What, Spirality! You did not marvel at her running in heels. lol :)

Yes, that was a wonder (and how she didn't sink in the mud).

And among the other inconsistencies, she didn't fall out of the helicopter onto her face, all of the bullets hit the flying dinos (who stayed around the island), the "claw marks" were clearly done in chalk and were too small for the big dinosaur (its what happens when the director doesn't tell the art department how big the CGI claw is), a flimsy aluminium helicopter is able to make a large hole in a geodome (even though the reinforced glass is stronger than concrete), heroes run into the woods and emerge in a busy car park, the raptors put themselves in mechanical headlocks, the truck is able to speed through dense jungle, there are no obese people, the kid's matches are dry, etc, etc.

I just watched Jurassic World (2015), a movie on the theme of genetics and evolution - a new breed of dinosaur is created and naturally starts running amok in the park.
The first 20 minutes (like most NWO movies) is a vomit-inducing re-enforcement of whacky and conditioned notions about "our World". I say notions because nearly all the dialog is based on accepted theory, not evidence.
For the most part, the movie progresses like it has potential, but like a lot of Hollywood movies is let down by over-stylized message-driven dialog and cheesy graphics.
Interspersed with emotional "content" and held together by running-and-looking-scared action, the story and exciting music culminate in an unreal monster fight between the good dinosaurs and the bad dinosaurs.
Just for once I'd like to see a movie where the heroes all get eaten.
For the last scene they should play the music from Rocky.   3/10
