Aww , friends, lol. Hi Mishel.
First time on the site in a long time as you might have noticed!
I see you know Shane.....great stuff we were in the same class in kinsale.
how'd you get on down in Jancsi's place? I missed it as i had my herb course was on that weekend....which was amazing! so exciting how empowered we become when we get in touch with the plant spirits. we've been learning or should i say remembering the ways we can directly perceive the information plants contain. Its so feckin simple thats the best thing. you dont need to study or try and educate yourself you just need to get out there and sit with the plants and listen,dream,taste,experience......trust your gut, your heart, your imagination! we were born with these organs to perceive information but somewhere along the line we either stopped listening or stopped believing. exciting times! whats going on at camp Theresa now ?

i have a friend selling a new yurt.. your friend might be interested.. i asked him about the price.. i think he said 3,000 or maybe 3,500.. sounds pricy.. or it is pricy... it s a 18 foot yurt... everybody else seems to be just building yurts for themselves and the chap that used to build yurts as a business has moved to wexford... i can get ya his number if you like... he might have a 10 foot yurt for sale that's second hand..
take care
speak soon
i can ask around about the second hand yurt or tee pee.. theres a dude called tee pee dave.. he let the freeman crew have their mini fest' on his land last year.. he'd be the man to track down ..
i haven't got to the canvas part yet.. a gang of us are sourcing the canvas together.. hoping that it might bring the cost down.. usually the canvas is sourced from the uk.. you'd be paying around 400 euros for a 12 to 14 foot yurt... then you have to stitch the fucker together.. i'm hoping to borrow a industrial sowing machine.. no i can't use one.. lol.. god help me..
tell your friend to check out benders.. their the dogs bollix.. i can write you a brief but detailed description of if needs be,,
keep in touch
I'm living in the centre of Longford town, and I don't drive so I wouldn't be able to get to Ballymahon.
=]
Come to town and gimme a buzz. Email me and I can reply to you with my number.
yes ducks seem to be the way forward, a diverse environment for your little seeds to flourish.. its a shame carrots have to be sown directly into the ground but c'est la vie..
slugs hate copper and it seems to work but this system only works best on raised beds. are you surrounded by grass? fucking grass a never ending green canopy for the little bastards to hang out and wait for dusk.. beer is another trick. people leave beer traps.. its the yeast that attracts them. . but i cant wait to hear tales of bliss when your slug patrol or ducks are let loose..
all's well here in kinsale. just finished my second and final year in college.. and i cant wait to get meself into the workshop to build all sorts of stuff... i have to finish of my yurt an ongoing project for the last year... and i hope to explore my new found love for wood a bit more over the coming year.. green wood furniture could be a possibility.. also on the agenda recycled mosaics.. i'm a trained glass artist and i trying to figure out how to recycle that too. lol...
we'll be also looking for a plot of land to buy.. there's land co-operative meetings here in kinsale and its fantastic but alot of fucking talk and about a thing that doesn't even exist. to much talking can drain the energy from great ideas. ..
anyway great hearing from you look forward to hanging out someday... when i'm finished my yurt i'll have to come and visit....
water of a ducks back!!!!
shane..
i gladly will meet up with you wherever to talk ...i travel a lot...so wherever is fine...greetings
tacitus
You were looking for homeschooled people?
I recently left school and have a great book, a fantastic handbook which can give you a load of info. =)
i built that canvas canoe with del at the weekend in the woods.. good craic.. since then i've worked on a currach in kinsale.. and at present a few of us are building yurts,, i've already built the wheel and hope to finish the roof poles and wall poles by the summer.. the canvas,, is still a mystery to me..
green manure!!! well done.. tried it in college but not on the allotment yet.. the college uses winter rye..
yes,, my cabbages and broccoli were devastated last year,, might grow my brassicas close to the house this year,,
i always use brown sugars in my jams.. i drop by some day and relieve you of your preserves with pleasure.. whats wrong with people.. kick up the arse,,, i say..
peace...
speak soon,,,,,,,
