First time posting on here, and just looking for some up to date advice on what to do when a summons is received.
The summons is in my name, and was at the house i'm renting a room in. I'm assuming it was just left in the letter box, and my flatmate put it under my bedroom door. Not sure if he accepted it in person, and i'll check that as soon as possible.
The summons seems in order, I've checked what needs to be included on it to be valid, so I just want to find out if I'm better to just not turn up for the summons date, and say I didn't receive it if it comes to that, maybe leading to an adjournment.
It is for a minor incident that I refused to pay for a service I wasn't happy with, and got arrested. I feel I was in the right, that's why I continued to refuse to pay to the point I got arrested.
Didn't think it would come to that, but it did.
Anyways, anybody got any advice or experience with this kind of thing?
What's the story with turning up to the court and stickin' it to the fear?
