why is the sea so salty?
its full of the mermaids tears
because we enslaved our authenticity
in favour of trolling hypocrisy
blame each other for our misery
that we indulged in all these years

isthere a way out of this self imposed prison?
the bars erected by our own dis-ease?
our talents and values not tasteful
looked upon by our peers as wasteful
then we're challenged for not being gratful
as the men above tighten their squeeze

so, why question my authority?
im the lion that protects his pride tenderly
roars in the face of adversity
to right all wrongs with ferocity
in order to reach inner peace
