Comment by A Solas on December 3, 2011 at 0:38 I was having a consultation with a surgeon recently and he was asking me what medications if any I was on, I mentioned a herb that he didn't recognise ( devils' claw) and he said something to the effect of " oh , never heard of that strain before " he had assumed it was cannabis, I got the distinct impression that he had a lot of patients using it medicinally and it was a non-issue.
Comment by arausio on December 3, 2011 at 0:03 Under the Misuse of Drugs Acts of 1977 and 1984 (There's that magic year again) cannabis, cannabis resin, and its derivatives are classed as Schedule 1 drugs, i.e. drugs that are considered by the state to have no medicinal or scientific value with consideration given regarding their likelihood of their being abused.
If you were found to be in possession of the oil you would indeed be open to prosicution. The only way to get it in this country would be to make it for yourself. To make it any significant amounts you would need to grow many many plants. The process involved in the making of the oil is quite hazardous.
I hope this answers your questions, if you have any others fire away.
Comment by micheal price on December 2, 2011 at 23:12 So even if it can be proved that it works what would the average doctor say if their patients suggested it? Would someone be arrested for having and using the oil even if it saved their life of a disease thats been supposedly incurable? And where would you even get it in this country?
