This is the basic problem with the Broadcasting Act 2009, the TV licence is to pay for RTE, that is it! If you are not using the service then you can not lawfully be asked to pay for it. No one has challenged this and this is how the scam works. It seems to me no one has read the Act to make inroads into it. It is a horrible one sided Act that is wrong, unfair and uses the one size fits all attitude to people's needs. Sadly, most legislation is very badly thought out-designed by idiots and applied by morons. IF IT GOES UNCHALLENGED, they will continue the scam. Its taken 8 months for me to put the TVLRO people in their place-but it had to be done. DO NOT forget who is boss here-they SERVE US, we are not THEIR 'subjects'. We all have to wake up to reality, there are more of us than them-our problem is that WE do not pull together-too much bickering, bitching and 'personality' based nonsense. Its time to grow up, isn't it?

she really made a ass out of herself, but you have to give her credit for telling the truth, that she dont know law, but is trying to inforce it, absolutly outragous statement. the guy handled the situation well, people (like the tv licence man) have being so trainned over their life to feel law instead of know law, including cops ect, that its time for a massive reveiw and retrainning, of the cops ect, COS THEY HAVENT A STINKING CLUE WHAT LAW IS> and thats gross negligence and fraud on their behalf, if i went into your house pretending to be a electrician and wasnt, and your house burnt dont because I HADNT A CLUE WHAT ELECTRICS ARE , id pay dearly for my actions and most likly be in jail , on gross negligence and fraud charges

She really got herself tied in knots. Point is the TV licence people are very good at harassment but as soon as you come back at them-oh suddenly they are the 'victims'.
