Two technologies will greatly get us off the grid right away but both need engineering:
Salt water engine (HHO) this can be applied to current engines (may rust in the future but the fully rechargable electric vehicle is on the table too). This requires a bit of engineering to adjust or add the voltage/amps into the hydrolitic chamber, to output more HHO. This can be further controlled by using a compressor to store a minimum amount needed in a pressure tank. It outputs oxygen. Then we have magnetic generators (of electricity). Sure the magnet wears out, but replenishing the magnets would take less than the energy it produces over its lifetime.
We have also unlocked the genetic code of the human body, erasing birth defects, working towards fully regenerative body & even unlocking the RNA to prolong life. But they are not using that technology for our benefit. As simple as building limbs for amputees.
