Hi folks I need your help with a little experiment. As you may have noticed there has been quite a bit of chatter in relation to varying belief systems on the site as of late.
William Burroughs once suggested that cut-up poetry may be an effective form of divination saying, "When you cut into the present the future leaks out." I would like to put this theory to the test, mostly for the fun of it.
If members of the site are willing to lend a hand, here is what I would like you to do. Locate a religious article that has been written within the last month, print out that article, and cut out the individual words of that particular article. Once you have done this place the cut up words into a bag or bowl, give them a good shake to mix them up, now randomly pick out words one at a time to create your verse. Your verse can be as long or as short as you like. If this particular method is not working out to your satisfaction, simply place all the cut up words in front of you on a table and pick the words that appeal to you most and create your verse that way.
Once you have created your verse post it here and lets see what our collaborative effort produces. I find cut-ups a great way to engage with ones creative abilities. So give it a try, we might well be very surprised at the end result.
If the idea takes off, we can apply this little method to any given subject matter.
